5 Easy Steps To Convert MKV To AVI
There is a video format that has been emerging lately called MKV, which stands for Matroska Video. It is
intended to serve as a universal multimedia container that can hold an unlimited amount of audio, subtitles, and
video. Because of this it has become an extremely useful way to create video for use on computers. However, various
devices and even some computers are still not able to play this video format because it may be too expensive or
counter intuitive to add native support. For example, most phones with video support may be able to play AVI or MP4
files, but MKV is most likely not going to work. For this reason, it is common to want to convert MKV to AVI in
order to play the video on a portable device or on a computer that can only play AVI video. Below are 5 easy steps
to do this.
Download and install video conversion software
Auspisoft Video Converter will be used in order to complete the video conversion. It is the easiest and most
user friendly piece of AVI Converter available. The installer goes through a few
short steps before the actual installation occurs, so make sure to read the instructions and install the software
properly.
Begin by clicking Next. Read the agreement and then check the radio button and click Next again. On the next
screen, choose the location to which you wish to install the video converter. The default location is usually the
easiest to install to, so click next from here. If you want to have easier access to the software, check the Create
a desktop icon button and then click Next. Verify that the settings are correct and then click Install.
The program should quickly install to the Program Files folder. After it is done, click on the check box and
then click finish at the bottom to launch the software.
Guide
Load MKV files into the software
In the main part of the program is a box with instructions on how to add videos to the program and get started,
along with a preview pane that displays the video before conversion. There is a large button on the top left corner
called Add Video. Click on it; a standard file browsing window should appear in which you can browse to and select
videos to convert.
Using this software it is possible to convert more than one video at a time by clicking on the Add Video button
again and selecting more videos until all of them are ready. When all of the videos are loaded into the software,
it is time to move on to selecting the output format.
Choose the conversion format
Near the bottom of the program there should be a drop down menu called Profile. When clicked, a large menu
appears with several video formats to choose from that convert for many different devices. Each conversion format
will have a bit of information next to it to help identify which format is being chosen. To convert to AVI from any
format, navigate to the Common Video menu and from there, choose Audio Video Interleaved format . Avi.
Edit your video
Auspisoft Video Converter features a video editor that allows you to change your video according to your
selections. At the bottom of the program is a series of tabs with different labels. To adjust the brightness of
your video along with a few other effects, choose the Effect tab and adjust from there. To crop the image in order
to make it fit the screen better, choose the crop tab. To make cuts and trim parts of the video off, click the Trim
tab and make changes from there. To add subtitles, click the Subtitle tab. And finally, to add a watermark or any
kind of logo, click the Watermark tab and make your adjustments inside.
Start the conversion
When you finish adding your videos to the program, choosing what to convert them to, and editing them, click the
large Start button in the bottom right of the window and wait for all the files to convert. As this is a
time-consuming process, it is probably best to leave the program running over night if you have multiple videos to
convert.
When it is finished, you should be left with high quality AVI videos to be used in whichever way you like. The
newly converted AVI files may be usable in a number of ways and are much more portable from one device to the next.
It is also important to note that the new files can be uploaded to video websites much more easily now, which gives
yet another reason to use this software to convert files. Either way, many people have a plethora of reasons for
converting MKV files, which is why Auspisoft Video Converter was created.
